VIETNAM

Typhoon Damrey (28)

Significant damage in 14 provinces of south-central Viet Nam was reported, after landfall on 4 November 2017. Official tally estimated 104 deaths, 19 missing with around 4 million people affected.
Coastal communities started debris management & early recovery. AHA Centre received request from Vietnam’s government. DELSA stockpiles were mobilised with in- country team assessing the situation.

MALAYSIA

Heavy Floods (TD 29)

Tropical Depression 29 resulted in heavy rainfall across Penang, Kedah and Perak. Significant flooding in those states were reported.

An estimated 9,543 people were displaced and had to stay in 92 evacuation centers across the states.
The flood also inundated the heritage city of Penang.

PHILIPPINES

Trop. Storm Haikui (30)

Before leaving Philippine’s territory, Tropical Storm Haikui (30) brought heavy rainfall and landslide in Isabela and Cagayan provinces.

Reports estimated 64,659 people being affected with 1,941 still displaced. Government of Philippines has allocated PHP 327,461 for initial response.
