HANOI, Sept 15, 2004 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- The rescuers have found fifteen people dying in northern Vietnam's big landslide up to local time 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
The landslide occurred in Bat Xat district of the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai at 8 p.m. local time Monday after a short spell of heavy rain dislodging part of a hillside next to the commune, when the four families were eating dinner and had no chance to escape, said one witness.
The death come less than two months after a local radio station warned a large crack had been found along the brow of the hill.
