Venezuela - Severe weather and floods, update (IFRC, INAMEH) (ECHO Daily Flash of 27 June 2025)

  • Persistent heavy rainfall over the past few days has triggered flooding and landslides in western and northern Venezuela, leading to death, displacement and property damage. The hardest-hit regions are Pueblo Llano, Cardenal Quintero, Rangel, Miranda, Santo Marquino, Libertador, and Campo Elías in Mérida state.
  • As of June 27, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) reported two fatalities and 18,545 affected individuals. Mérida state’s Civil Protection authority declared an Emergency Plan in the Páramo area.
  • Additional rainfall is forecasted across the country over the next 48 hours.
