FUNDING OVERVIEW
As of 30 June, donors provided US$104 million ($6m outside the plan), with the Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) receiving 14% of the total required. This is below the global average of 20% funding for HRPs and represents three-quarters of the funding received in Venezuela at the mid-year point in 2022.
Overall, and after several years of growth, funding for Venezuela has been declining since 2022, decreasing 10% between 2021 and 2022, with further reductions expected in 2023. Globally, the current funding situation places Venezuela as the second most underfunded humanitarian response.
As of 2023, 13 countries have reported contributions, 67% of which come from two donors. The reliance on a small number of donors makes the response more vulnerable to changes from contributing countries.
