  • Generously funded by the United Arab Emirates, this Boeing 747 carried relief items and emergency equipment from Dubai and Malaysia for Cyclone Pam survivors in Vanuatu.

  • Items onboard included water purification units, tarpaulins, jerry cans, tents, buckets, water purification tablets and generators on behalf of several humanitarian partners.

  • Due to weight limitations at Vanuatu's Port Vila airport, cargo was routed through Brisbane, where WFP Aviation prepositioned a C130 aircraft for multiple rotations to Port Vila.

  • UNHRD's Rapid Response Team was also deployed to Vanuatu to support cargo receipt and management at the airport.
