UNHRD Operations Update - Response to Cyclone Pam in Vanuatu, as of 01 July, 2015

Generously funded by the United Arab Emirates, this Boeing 747 carried relief items and emergency equipment from Dubai and Malaysia for Cyclone Pam survivors in Vanuatu.

Items onboard included water purification units, tarpaulins, jerry cans, tents, buckets, water purification tablets and generators on behalf of several humanitarian partners.

Due to weight limitations at Vanuatu's Port Vila airport, cargo was routed through Brisbane, where WFP Aviation prepositioned a C130 aircraft for multiple rotations to Port Vila.

UNHRD's Rapid Response Team was also deployed to Vanuatu to support cargo receipt and management at the airport.
