Monitoring Emergencies: Uruguay - 02/06/2017: Strong winds cause damages and the evacuation of 23 people in Cerro

On Sunday, February 5, 2917, an orange alert was declared for the departments of Maldonado and Rocha and a yellow alert for the departments of Montevideo, Canelones, and Lavalleja due to strong winds of more than 120 km/h. 23 people were evacuated in the area of Cerro and approximately 13,000 people were without electricity.
