"So many people in Oregon have seen the heartbreaking images from the hurricane disaster and wondered what they can do," says Bas Vanderzalm, president of Northwest Medical Teams. "These families have lost everything. We now have a very specific way to show them we care and that we support their recovery."
Northwest Medical Teams is partnering with the American Red Cross to distribute the donated items at shelters where the disaster survivors will stay. In addition, Northwest Medical Teams is working with other groups to organize long-term housing for these families.
