LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Pulaski County survivors of the recent storms, tornadoes and flooding can meet with state and federal disaster recovery specialists beginning Monday in Jacksonville.

The state of Arkansas, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), U.S. Small Business Administration and other agencies all have representatives at the new Disaster Recovery Center. These professionals can answer questions and provide information on the types of assistance available to survivors. They also have brochures and other written materials on disaster recovery.

The recovery center is at:

2126 N. 1st Street, Suite T (old Blockbuster building) Jacksonville, AR 72076

Operating hours are 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

"We've set up the center in one of the hardest-hit areas of Pulaski County to make it as easy as possible for people to get the answers they need," said State Coordinating Officer David Maxwell. "We urge any survivor who has questions about the recovery process to visit the center."

"Our specialists are glad to have the opportunity to meet with Arkansans who are wondering about assistance," said Federal Coordinating Officer Nancy M. Casper. "It's a good idea to register with FEMA first, then visit the center and let our folks walk you through the process."

FEMA's mission is to support our citizens and first responders to ensure that as a nation we work together to build, sustain, and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards.
