Tanzania: Rotary International launches the distribution of REMIT

Rotarian Shriniwas Kendale, visiting from India on behalf of Rotary International, launches the distribution of REMIT (Rotarians Eliminating Malaria in Tanzania) nets at Kaloleni in Arusha municipality.

Also present was Kelvin from Dar es Salaam who came especially to train the community in spraying the inside of their houses against Mosquitos.

The distribution started with training on the most important issue of how to stop the mosquito breeding by keeping the areas clean with no stagnant water, rubbish or long grasses, by Rtn Valeria Mrema and was closely followed by Rtd Boniface Kimbokian on the benefits and treatment of the nets.

In the past few years Rotary has distributed over 500,000 nets and sprayed hundreds of houses in village communities in Tanzania.
