DONETSK FILTER STATION SHELLED:
Voda Donbasa has informed WASH Cluster that today, at 16:45 Donetsk time (15:45 Kiev time), Donetsk Filter station (DFS) was shelled. Staff reported at least two hits within the area the water filter station – near the garage and near the entrance building. Fortunately, no one was injured. Voda Donbasa considered evacuating all staff and only did not do so as it was dark. VD has reported, that since the initial shelling the situation has become quieter, although the sounds of the shelling were still audible later in the evening.
DFS supplies water to the following settlements: Avdiivka, Kruta Balka, Vasylivka, Mineralne, Yakovlivka, Verkhniotoretske, part of Yasynuvata and western areas of Donetsk city, and it officially provides water in total to 345,309 people (December 2016 figures from Voda Donbasa).
