HORLIVKA SEWAGE PUMPING STATION SHELLED
Voda Donbasa (VD) informed the WASH Cluster that in the evening of September 5th 2019 (from 17:00 – 17:00 ) Horlivka Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) No. 6, which is located not far from a mercury plant, was under shelling. The mercury plant is currently not working, however it is not known what chemicals are stored there currently.
Fortunately, there was no damage to the SPS. Only one staff member of Voda Donbasa at the facility, and was inside the building as there is no bomb shelter there. Luckily they were unharmed. As of today, 8th September 2019, the SPS continue to operate in normal mode, and the WASH Cluster is in in close contact with Voda Donbasa in case of further updates.
