SHELL FRAGMENT FOUND AT FILTER STATION
Voda Donbasa (VD) water company informed the WASH Cluster that a fragment of projectile was identified this morning near main entrance to vehicle garage within the territory of the Donetsk Filter Station (DFS). Although no major shelling was recorded, this of course represents a safety issue for the 40 staff working daily at the DFS.
This is first incident with DFS since the announcement of the "harvest ceasefire", which started on 1st July 2018.
DFS supplies water to the following settlements: Avdiivka, Kruta Balka, Vasylivka, Mineralne, Yakovlivka, Verkhniotoretske, part of Yasynuvata and western areas of Donetsk city, and it officially provides water in total to 378,983people (January 2018 figures from Voda Donbasa).
The WASH Cluster is in touch with VD and will inform partners about any needs and updates.
