Objective
To identify and support vulnerable, war-affected rural households impacted by mines and explosive remnants of war to help restore agricultural production in spring 2024.
Activities implemented
• Conducted a remote sensing analysis to map the extent and intensity of artillery damage as part of the targeting process.
• Identified the most affected 556 households with access to land, through remote sensing technology.
• Distributed vouchers valued at USD 212 048 to 556 households for the procurement of agricultural inputs.
Results
• Enhanced the evidence base on the impact of mines and explosive remnants of war on agricultural production.
• Achieved accurate targeting of 556 households based on remote sensing, ensuring a high degree of accountability and targeted support.
• Enabled beneficiary households to procure the required inputs (e.g. seeds, fertilizers, tools and building supplies), directly contributing to agricultural recovery and building resilience in war-affected rural communities, and reducing their use of crisis or negative coping mechanisms by 12 percent.
