Ukraine - Missile strike hits hospital (DG ECHO, UN OCHA, media) (ECHO Daily Flash of 09 July 2024)

  • On 8 July, the Ohmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv, Ukraine's biggest paediatrics facility, was hit by a missile strike.
  • The hospital sustained major damage during the blast, with long-lasting effects in terms of access to health services in the city. The evacuation of paediatric patients is underway.
  • At least 38 people were killed and 140 people were injured on 8 July in a series of missile strikes across the country, including 27 in Kyiv.
  • According to the latest UN OCHA Humanitarian Situation Snapshot, the humanitarian situation in the country has significantly worsened over the past months.
