  • UNICEF issues statement urging all parties to respect child rights following field reports of children being killed or injured in Ukraine after being involved in violent clashes.

  • According to UNHCR, the number of internally displaced people in Ukraine is 9,271 as of 14 May.

  • UNICEF is conducting a rapid assessment of the psychosocial impact of the crisis on children in Donetsk Oblast.

  • UNICEF continues to provide basic hygiene kits and psychosocial assistance to IDP families and children in Ukraine.

  • UNICEF is increasing operational capacities with the help of an Emergency Coordinator seconded by RedR Australia.

  • UNICEF continues to seek funds to support Ukraine in Education, Child Protection and Health including covering vaccination programme gaps given the imminent threat of polio outbreak in country.
