Introduction
This report presents the findings of Risk Assessment conducted at the Transit Centers of Kharkiv City and Izium, both of which provide support to evacuees from Kharkivska Oblast. The Kharkiv Transit Center (TC) opened in May 2024 and serves as a key hub for displaced individuals, offering overnight accommodation for up to 100 people. Izium TC, which began operations in November 2024, was established to support evacuees from Borivska hromada. Unlike Kharkiv TC, Izium does not provide overnight accommodation but has the capacity to register and assist up to 100 individuals per day.
The primary purpose of the assessment was to identify risks related to gender-based violence (GBV) and overall safety in these Transit Centers, and to recommend measures to mitigate those risks. The audit was carried out by GBV AoR staff utilizing the standardized GBV Risk Assessment Tool. The findings of this report will be presented and discussed at ICWG and GBV AoR forums for the necessary follow-up actions on the proposed recommendations.
