Context
The full-scale war in Ukraine has caused one of the largest displacement crises in the world. Since its escalation in February 2022, nearly six million refugees from Ukraine have fled to Europe alone.
With the objective of collecting comprehensive data on the situation and needs of refugees from Ukraine, UNHCR in collaboration with the regional sector leads has conducted a multi-sectoral needs assessment (MSNA) in seven countries: Bulgaria, Czechia, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia. The data collection exercise focused on various sectors, including education, healthcare, and protection.
This regional report presents key findings related to protection, including child protection, gender-based violence, and accountability to affected populations.
