The primary goal of this mission was to identify GBV risks and protection issues through coordinated safety audits across various humanitarian activities.
Methodology and objectives
The Safety Audit assessment was conducted in April 2024 in collaboration with CCCM, Protection,
WASH, Shelter, and Health partners.
During the assessment, a qualitative and participatory approach for the purpose of gathering information was applied. The following tools were utilized to collect GBV specific data:
-
GBV Safety Audit Tool Contextualized for Ukraine Context
-
Focus Group Discussions led by GBV partners with women aged 18-59;
-
Focus Group Discussion led by GBV partners with women aged over 60
Information is collected to assess GBV risk factors in collective/transit centers and surrounding infrastructure in Ukraine related to the living conditions, safety and security, water/sanitation/hygiene (WASH) facilities, availability and safe access to GBV and other services. Through safety audit the observable risks of GBV / specific vulnerabilities are identified. Additionally, GBV partners facilitated four focus group discussions with elderly women and women of reproductive age as part of the Safety Audit exercise.
