Research on the Kunievska Community, Kharkiv Region Analysis of Infrastructure, Social and Economic Needs

Attachments

The methodology for assessing the needs of communities affected by hostilities serves as the basis for collecting accurate and systematic data that is crucial for effective recovery and support. Armed conflicts cause significant damage not only to physical infrastructure but also to the social and economic well-being of residents.

The recovery of such communities is a complex and multifaceted process that requires clear organization and detailed analysis. The methodological approach in this study includes several key stages:

  • Planning and preparation — forming a research team, developing data collection tools (questionnaires, online forms, interview scripts), determining geographical coverage and logistical needs. The preparatory stage also included coordination with local authorities.

  • Data collection and verification — included visits to each community starosta districts, interviews with key informants, organization of focus groups with residents, and filling out online forms via the Kobo Toolbox platform. Special attention was paid to ensuring that the information collected accurately reflects the real situation — any discrepancies were verified using repetitive requests and comparisons with other sources.

  • Analytical assessment — data was aggregated and analyzed in a structured form, taking into account the following categories: demographics, infrastructure, security, housing, access to services, and economy. Conclusions were formed both at the level of individual starosta districts and for the community as a whole.

Each of these stages had specific tasks, tools, and responsible persons. This approach ensured a comprehensive, reliable, and rapid assessment of the humanitarian situation in the Kunievska community.
