Kyiv Region, Ukraine – May 31–June 1, 2025 — MedGlobal, in cooperation with trauma experts and community psychologists, successfully held a powerful two-day training-workshop titled "The Strength to Live: Resource Restoration Through Healing Contact with Nature" Designed for families of missing or captured Ukrainian defenders, this holistic program focused on restoring emotional balance and inner strength through nature-based therapy, traditional practices, and psychological support.
Led by experienced trainers Iryna Yevchenko and Anatoliy Tykhonchuk, the program blended evidence-based techniques with deeply rooted cultural traditions. Sessions included:
- Art therapy and body-oriented practices to support self-awareness and emotional release.
- Bread therapy where participants baked traditional bread as a form of emotional healing and grounding.
- Culinary therapy, including communal cooking of borshch, reinforcing cultural identity and family connection.
- First Psychological Aid (PFA) and self-help techniques, tailored to individuals experiencing ambiguous loss.
Specialized programming was also provided for children, with games, art, and educational interaction supported by trained volunteers.
“Workshops like this help people reconnect with themselves, their identity, and their hope. Through tradition, touch, and trust — healing begins,” said Iryna Yevchenko, lead psychologist.
A Community group continues to support participants, sustaining the therapeutic benefits beyond the event itself.
