This tool streamlines data collection, storage and visualization to enhance coordination and service delivery to vulnerable communities and children.

Objective

The objective of child protection service mapping is to ensure that children at risk can be effectively and safely referred to appropriate services by identifying, documenting, and regularly updating information about available child protection and related services, their coverage, and referral procedures within a defined geographic area.

Purpose

The purpose of child protection service mapping is to support effective, safe, and timely referrals by identifying and documenting available services for children at risk. It enables frontline workers and case managers to connect children and families to appropriate support, helps identify service gaps and overlaps, and strengthens coordination among child protection and other sectors. Service mapping also contributes to improved case management, enhances the quality and accountability of referrals, and ensures that services meet child safeguarding standards. Additionally, it plays a critical role in emergency preparedness and response by allowing rapid access to essential child protection services in dynamic or high-risk contexts.
