Purpose: Child consultation as a part of the Ukraine Education Cluster annual strategic planning cycle to inform Cluster Strategy review and HNRP development in 2025.
Process leads: Yulia Leonova (NGO Avalyst – cluster partner organisation and subcluster local co-lead organization with expertise and experience in child participation) and Margaryta Rymarenko (SCI Education Cluster Coordinator). Called ‘Project Leads’ throughout the case study.
Logistics:
• When: July 2024
• Duration: 2 days
• Location: Lviv, Ukraine
• Cost: Budget to cover travel, accommodation, food and activities for 30 people (15 children + 15 parents/ caregivers – use the same approach as you would for organising a workshop for teachers/ community members etc.)
Targeting: 15 children between 12-16 years-old from different regions in Ukraine – the majority were 14-15 years-old. The project leads worked with other cluster partners to identify children who might be willing to take part and who would represent different types of contexts – e.g., front-line, displaced.
