Context

The conflict in Sudan has caused a steady increase in the number of refugees arriving in Uganda. While the pace of new arrivals surged in 2024, inflows have slowed in 2025. As of now, over 88,127 Sudanese refugees are registered across the country. The Government of Uganda, UNHCR, and partners continue to provide protection and assistance to these individuals, who are part of the 1.92 million refugees who call Uganda home.
