Context

Since January 2025, 46,000 people arriving in Uganda from the Democratic Republic of Congo are in need of international refugee protection. The government, UNHCR and partners provide protection and assistance to these individuals who are part of the 1.8M refugees who call Uganda home. Most arrivals are from Nord Kivu, Sud Kivu and Ituri regions.
