On 24 July, the Public Health Emergency Operation Centre (PHOEC) notified Minister of Health (MoH) of a confirmed cholera outbreak in Namayingo District, close to the Kenyan border.

Since 7 July, there are 38 suspected cases, 5 confirmed cases and 7 deaths (of which 2 confirmed cases) in 2 districts: Kayunga, where a positive case with Vibrio Cholerae Ogawa 01 was confirmed on 19 July, and Namiyingo, confirmed on 24 July.

A District Rapid Response team is to be deployed in Bumalenge Parish in Namiyingo while on 20 July, a team from Ministry of Health Public Health Fellowship Program was dispatched to investigate the outbreak in Kayunga.
