The overall district was considered to be in the ALERT across all the livelihood zones. This was mainly because the district has continued to be hit by the zoonotic disease brucellosis and there were cases of increase in the prices of sorghum implying food has started depleting from the granaries. The agricultural zones are expected to worsen because of the food stores have started depleting and the agro-pastoral zones are projected to stabilize since vaccination were done and more are planned and besides rains are soon setting in making water and pasture readily available.
