A wildfire has been burning across Eskisehir province in western Türkiye, between Eskisehir city and Istanbul, causing casualties and widespread damage.
According to the Global Forest Fire Information System (JRC GWIS), as of 24 July, the fires burned more than 6,750 ha so far.
Media report, as of 24 July, ten fatalities, including five firefighters, and 14 injured people, while battling the wildfire. The death toll due to wildfires in 2025 rose to 13.
Over the next 24 hours, according to GWIS, the fire danger forecast is expected to be from high to extreme in the affected area.
