Summary
EARTHQUAKE IN TURKIYE
Population displacement dynamics across the earthquake affected area and surrounding districts have largely stabilized over the past week, with only minor rates of daily change compared to baseline. Stabilization of rates of change appears to be the case both for areas which have seen significant outflows and areas seeing significant inflows.
The two cities seeing the greatest reductions remain Malatya (-58%) and Antakya/Hatay (-60%). Those rates have remained constant over multiple weeks. Karamanmaras, Islahiye, Iskenderun, and Kirikhan are gradually returning to baseline, but remain well below pre-crisis levels with reductions varying between -17% and -37%. In each case daily percentage changes are negligible but non-zero.
Cities seeing the greatest rates of increase include Altinozu (+51%), Kumlu (+38%), Kilis (+27%), Nizip (+26%), Kadirli (+23%), and Sahinbey (+18%). In each case daily rates of change have remained essentially constant for 10 days or more.
The representativeness of the Facebook population varies between 2% and 11% at the city level.
