In order to contribute to the solution for the accommodation or housing problem of the citizens affected by the earthquakes that took place in Kahramanmaraş, the "Let My Home Be Your Home" (“Evim Yuvan Olsun”) application was put into effect.
A system has been put into effect where philanthropists can allocate their homes free of charge or on favorable terms with a low-rent to those in need of accommodation.
Citizens who do not have the opportunity to allocate their houses will be able to provide support to earthquake victims through financial aid.
Accommodation opportunities will be offered to earthquake victims through the application.
As part of the application, citizens who open their empty or unused houses to earthquake victims for at least 3 months can apply to the system. Their applications will be evaluated by the District Governorship of the province where the house is located.
The houses approved by the district governorship will be included in the campaign free of charge. A "Loan Agreement" will be signed between the district governorship and the householder. The elected family who survived the earthquake will be housed by the District Governorship.
The Rent Determined for the House will be covered from the Rental Donation Accrued in the AFAD Account
Those who want to rent their house for the use of earthquake victims for 1 year at a reasonable price considering the market conditions will also be able to apply to this system. The requested rent must be significantly less than the actual value of the house.
The district governorships will confirm the suitability of the discounted rental and the house on site. These houses that are approved by the district governorship will also be included in the campaign.
"Rental Agreement" will be signed between the District Governorship and the householder. The earthquake victims will be housed by the District Governorship. The rental determined for these houses will be covered by donations that accrued in the AFAD account.
Those who cannot participate in the campaign with house support will be able to provide financial aid for rent support. These donations will be used in the discounted rental payments of the houses as part of the campaign.
Minimum 3-Month Commitment is required
Those who want to allocate their homes to earthquake victims free of charge will be able to participate in the campaign with a contract of agreement for at least 3 months. Householders can extend this period up to 12 months. Those who want to rent their house at a low price have to open their house for a standard period of 1 year.
The housed earthquake victims through this campaign will be elected by AFAD and the Ministry of Interior units. Priority will be given to families with disability, elderly people, to families with chronic diseases that require regular treatment and similarly disadvantaged individuals and families with children who have lost family members in the earthquake.
The Bills will paid by the District Governorship
The utility bills of the houses where the earthquake victims are placed will be paid by the District Governorship as long as the earthquake victims stay in the house. In this regard, it will be ensured that the householder does not incur any additional expenses.
Insurances will be provided by Türkiye Sigorta for the possible damage to the house or the belongings in the house due to the use of earthquake victims' families. Houses opened for earthquake victims, free of charge or by renting, will be covered by the "United Residence and Property Insurance". Insurance charges will be covered by Türkiye Sigorta.
Türkiye's three largest real estate listing platforms will support the campaign. The "emlakjet.com", "hepsiemlak.com", "sahibinden.com" platforms will direct a large pool of customers to this campaign.
Those who want to open their houses for the use of earthquake victims will be able to participate in the campaign by filling in an application form on one of these platforms. Application forms will be forwarded to the systems of the Ministry of Interior.
