About the Earthquake in Kahramanmaraş - 19 (As of 07.45)
An earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale took place in Pazarcık, Kahramanmaraş at 04.17 hours on February 6, 2023. A total of 1,052 earthquakes occurred including a 7.6-magnitude earthquake that hit Elbistan.
According to initially available information from SAKOM, 12,873 people have lost their lives and 62,937 individuals have been injured in Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, Adana, Adıyaman, Osmaniye, Hatay, Kilis and Malatya and Elazığ.
113,201 search and rescue workers from AFAD, PAK, Gendarmerie, DAK, Ministry of National Defense, UMKE, Fire Department, Ministry of National Education, Güven, NGOs, Volunteers, Security Units and Local Support Teams. A total of 5,709 teams from countries have contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to offer assistance and have been deployed to earthquake areas.
A total of 5,557 vehicles, including construction equipment including Excavators, tractors, cranes, dozers, trucks, water tenders, trailers, graders and vacuum trucks have been deployed to the affected areas.
31 governors and more than 70 district governors and 68 provincial directors and 19 AFAD top directors have been assigned to disaster areas.
The Air and Land Forces, the Gendarmerie and the Coast Guard have built an air bridge for the deployment of personnel and equipment with 160 aircrafts.
A total of 22 ships, 20 ships by the Naval Forces, and 2 ship by the Coast Guard Command were employed to deliver personnel and materials to the affected area.
** Disaster Sheltering Group**
A total of 1,255,500 blankets and 137.929 medical tents were sent to the 10 quake-hit provinces from AFAD, The Turkish Red Crescent and the Ministry of Family and Social Services. 92,738 AFAD Family Tent was installed in the region for the earthquake victims.
Disaster Nourishment Group
The Turkish Red Crescent, AFAD, the Ministry of National Defense, the Gendarmerie, Humanitarian Relief Foundation and foundations of Hayrat, Beşir and İnsiyatif sent 79 catering vehicles, 95 mobile kitchens, 1 mobile food bank, 4 mobile ovens, 39 field kitchens, 1 container kitchen and 86 service vehicles to the quake-hit areas.
3,307,982 units of hot meal, 807,662 units of soup, 4,619,937 liters of water, 3,249,536 pieces of bread, 2,694,543 treats and 395,782 units of beverage were distributed to the quake-hit areas.
** Disaster Psychosocial Support Group**
4 mobilized Social Service Centers are charged in Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Osmaniye, and Malatya provinces. 1,502 officers and 145 vehicles are sent to the region.
