After an exhausting four days assisting with rescue operations in Turkey RAPID UK will be returning home with the dog team, tomorrow Monday 23 August arriving at Terminal 3 Heathrow at 1600 hours, flight No. TK 1991 where they will be available for interviews and photocall.
Two of the team, Westcountry ambulanceman and RAPID UK Director, Graham Payne, from Okehampton, Devon and Barry Sessions, Training Officer from Lustleigh, Devon, assisted during the earthquake in Northern Turkey in 1993. Other team members are Nick Spence a paramedic with Westcountry Ambulance Service Trust from Saltash, Cornwall, Paul Minshull, a stock control clerk from Northlew, Devon, Paul Blewitt, Mike Holyhead and David Sleeman from Gloucester, John Miller, a builder from Lane End, Buckinghamshire and Stewart Welland, a mechanic from Baldock, Hertfordshire. The dog handlers are Simon Gillam from Aldershot, Hampshire and Chris Pritchard from Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.
