A moderate earthquake occurred IN EASTERN TURKEY about 10 km (10 miles) north of Bingol at 6:27 PM MDT, Apr 30, 2003 (May 01 at 3:27 AM local time in Turkey). The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available. At least 13 people were killed and 135 injured at Bingol.
