Tunisia - Floods (CatNat, media, GDACS, Institut National de la Meteorologie Tunisia) (ECHO Daily Flash of 21 January 2026)

  • Heavy rainfall and strong winds have been affecting eastern Tunisia since 18 January, causing floods and river and wadi overflow that resulted in casualties and damage.
  • Media reports, as of 20 January, four fatalities in the Moknine city of the Monastir governorate, in north-eastern Tunisia. Traffic disruption has been reported in the cities of Nabeul and Kélibia in the Nabeul governorate, and approximately 105 roads are affected in the Monastir governorate.
  • On 21-22 January, more rain is expected over the whole country, with thunderstorms in northern Tunisia.
