Highlights
- As of today, 7 new cases reported with positive rapid test, which brings up the total cumulative DF cases to 492.
- Majority of confirmed cases from Vava’u (264), Tongatapu (177), ‘Eua (50) and Haápai (1).
- A total of 6 cases are currently hospitalized (5 in Vaiola, 1 Prince Ngu). One case in ICU and the rest are in STABLE condition.
- No dengue-related death reported to date.
- Age group mostly affected is 10-19 years old. Youngest age affected is a 2 months old baby.
- Dengue Virus Type 2 (DENV-2) is the responsible virus for this current outbreak in Tonga.
