Operational Updates

  • The Cadre Harmonisé food security analysis of March 2024 shows that more than 350,000 people in Togo, concentrated in the Northern regions, are in dire need of urgent emergency food assistance (crisis to emergency phases).

  • The spillover of the Sahel conflict caused an influx of refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs).
    Overall, 48,118 refugees and asylum seekers (mainly from Burkina Faso) and 9,680 IDPs have been identified and/or registered by the Government and UNHCR from July to September 2024.

  • WFP Togo is appealing for US$ 12.5 million under the UN Joint Response Plan, to reach an additional 190,000 beneficiaries with emergency assistance and resilience building activities.
