Highlights

• The Civil Protection Authority (CPA) of the Ministry of Interior, Government of Timor Leste, as the national lead agency in emergency response, conducted a Humanitarian Logistics Preparedness Inception Workshop on 14-15 November 2024. Supported by the World Food Programme and the Logistics Cluster’s Field-Based Preparedness Project (FBPP), the workshop aimed at fostering collaboration among relevant stakeholders and establishing a common understanding around the importance of Humanitarian Supply Chain and Logistics (HSC&L) preparedness in enhancing emergency response and coordination.

• The workshop brought together 112 representatives from the Government, United Nations agencies, non-governmental organisations, Red Cross, and the private sector to share disaster management updates and experiences, conduct a Strength-Weakness-Opportunity-Threat (SWOT) analysis on national emergency logistics preparedness and response, and jointly assess national HSC&L capacities using the FBPP’s Capacity Needs Mapping exercise to define key priorities in strengthening emergency logistics preparedness in Timor Leste.
