BANGKOK, 31 October 2010 (NNT) - Royal Irrigation Department has warned people who live along the Chao Phraya River to inspect their water barriers to make sure that they are in good condition, as more water is expected to continue flowing from the North. Over 100 people have been reported dead in the flood, the worst in decades, so far.
After a meeting with related agencies, Deputy Director of the flood-relief center Withayen Mutamara disclosed 22 provinces and 222 districts had reportedly been affected by floods flooding. Thousands of rai of farmland and hundreds of homes had been submerged and more than 100 deaths had also been reported dead.
Provinces that are still under critical conditions are Ang Thong, Singhburi, Ayutthaya, Phathumthani and Nonthaburi, as water levels in these provinces remain high.
