Southern Trang governor Mr. Sompong Anuyutthapong ordered relevant officials in the province's all districts on Thursday (October 23) to beware of flash floods which could occur any time now.
Earlier, Trang was one of the provinces warned by the Meteorological Department potentially to be affected by continuously heavy rains caused by the trough of rather active low pressure. The rains could lead to flash floods and landslide, especially mountainous and potential floods' prone areas in Na Yong, Yan Ta Khao, and Palian districts.
Mr. Sompong said that his province's officials have monitored the raining situation. They were prepared to evacuate local people affected by the continuously raining if levels of the rain exceeded specified levels.
