Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) issues heavy rainfalls warning in Southern regions.
Strong monsoon influences from the Northeast have covered Thai Gulf and Southern region of Thailand, together with low-pressure cell blanketing the entire lower South. These combined forces have induced heavy rainfalls in various provinces, including Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, Trang and Satun. Thus, the authority has promptly decided to issue a warning to the public, so they can become more aware of heavy rainfalls and flood over the next couple days.
Meanwhile, TMD stated that there would be 2-3 meters tall ocean waves strengthening in the Thai Gulf. All ships should proceed with extra caution, while small boats have been urged not to operate during this period.
