Thailand – Severe weather (ADINet, Thai Meteorological Department) (ECHO Daily Flash of 22 July 2025)

  • On 20 July, central Thailand was affected by a storm accompanied by strong winds, affecting the provinces of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Krabi, and Surat Thani. The storm caused injuries and damage across the three provinces.
  • The ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet) reports, as of 20 July, that two people were injured and 669 houses damaged in Nakhon Si Thammarat. In Krabi province, 294 houses were damaged, while Surat Thani province reports 144 houses. A total of 5,535 people have been affected across these three provinces.
  • Over the next 48 hours, additional isolated heavy rain is forecast across Thailand. Authorities warn of potential flash floods and overflows.
