Mr. Taweesak Intaphrom, local affairs officer level 8, acting Koh Samui District Chief, stated that the Southeastern Meteorological Office has issued a warning announcement to the public regarding possible heavy rainfalls in the eastern parts of the South and strong wind in the Gulf of Thailand due to a strong northeastern monsoon covering the Gulf. Such monsoon would lead to heavy rains for the next one to two days in Surat Thani province. The Gulf of Thailand would have a couple of metres' height waves. Therefore, fishermen and boats' crews are warned to be extra cautious when navigating.

Furthermore, small boats are urged not to go off shores during the notified period, while local people residing in the risky areas are warned to be aware of flashfloods and inundation during the next four to five days or between November 23 and 27.

Koh Samui district's Highways Office has prepared to prevent the possible flashfloods by arranging sandbags provision to the local people who can contact number 0-7742-5195 if more sandbags are further required.
