Thailand has been affected by storms with heavy rains and strong winds, resulting in consequent flooding over the past few days, and causing people to go missing and damage.
According to the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), as at 10 May, one person was reported missing in Nakhon Ratchasima province. A total of 1,244 people were affected, and 204 houses were damaged in the central provinces of Nakhon Sawan, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun, as well as the eastern provinces of Kalasin, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Sa Kaeo.
Over the next 48 hours, moderate rain with isolated heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms is forecast across Thailand. From 13-17 May, the Thai Meteorological Department has warned of a risk of flash floods across the country.
