The chief of the provincial disaster prevention and mitigation office in Surat Thani says flooding in three districts of the province is still critical.
Chief of the Surat Thani provincial disaster prevention and mitigation office, Thanakon Trabanphreuk reported that eight of 19 districts in Surat Thani have been affected by inundation and three of which have been critical, ncluding Chiya, Tha Chang, and Kanchanadit.
Chiya district was flooded again last night. 1,200 households in Tha Chang and 4,000 households in Kanchanadit have been affected by the flood as the areas are lowland adjacent to mountains. Some of the people have been evacuated to a safe place and the authorities have distributed boats to them. 5,000 survival kits have been distributed to the flood victims.
Mr Thanakon also warned that small boats should not operate from now untill November 24th due to rain and high waves.
