Thailand: Defense Ministry grants survival kits to flood-affected people in Narathiwat

BANGKOK, 26 November 2009 (NNT) - Minister of Defense Prawit Wongsuwan gave out 1,000 survival kits to flood-affected people in Muang, Srisakorn, Ra-ngae and Cho Ai Rong districts in Narathiwat province.

Mr Prawit travelled to gain first hand information among the flood-stricken people while handing out survival kits for 1,000 households in four districts of Narathiwat province. Apart from giving survival kits to them, 10 flood victims' families had been given 15,000 THB each and 5 temples and Mosques also received a monetary assistance in the amount of 300,000 each.

Flood-affected people in the province had expressed their sincere gratitude over this helpful action from the government. At the same time, they have asked the related agencies to supply more survival kits and provide more relief for the victims in Srisakorn district, the most flood-affected district in the province.
