The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reports that in the Southern Region a total of nine provinces are still experiencing flood conditions resulting in over 227,000 citizens being affected.
The department's report reveals 88 districts, 549 Tambon, 3,478 villages and 820,270 households are experiencing inundation. Nonetheless, the seven provinces consisting of Chumporn, Surat Thani, Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat are no longer submerged. The two hardest hit provinces which continue to be flooded are Patthalung and Songkhla.
The department has also reported cold conditions affecting citizens in 30 provinces, 15 in the north, 14 in the northeast and one in the east. Over 300,000 blankets have been distributed to aid citizens and the department has contacted its provincial offices to begin aid measures.
