Thailand: DDPM reports current flood and cold weather situations

Department of Natural Disaster Prevention and Mitigation informs on current flood situation as it has already affected 5 provinces, while 24 provinces are enduring with extreme cold weather.

Department of Natural Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) announced the current flood situation as of December 6 that, continual heavy rainfalls in Southern regions of Thailand have caused flash flood in 9 provinces, 87 districts, 545 sub-districts, 3,363 villages, and 212,014 families, resulting in 28 deaths. The overall situation has been mitigated in 4 provinces, including Chumphon, Surat Thani, Trang, and Nakhon Si Thammarat. Meanwhile, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat provinces with a total of 20 districts, 99 sub-districts, 741 villages, 43,131 families, or 166,677 people are currently suffering from inundation.

At the same time, extreme cold weather condition also has already affected 24 provinces, 237 districts, 1,778 sub-districts, or a total of 20,882 villages. The Rajaprachanugroh Foundation under the Royal Patronage has already sent Royal aids and consumer goods to residents residing in concerned areas.
