Thailand: Betong compensates residents affected by flood
Betong Municipality of Yala province distributes
more than 100,000 baht of compensation to residents affected by flash flood.
Today (March, 28th), Deputy Mayor of the Betong Municipality Chalermchai Yingchutrakul presides over the compensation presentation ceremony to the flood-affected residents. More than 80 residents showed up to receive the money. The Betong Municipality Area was hit by flash flood on October 20th last year.
Mr Chalermchai says after the flood, the municipality sent a letter to the Yala Province, requesting it to allocate money to assist people whose residence and assets had been destroyed by the flood. The province instructed the Yala Office of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation to cooperate with the municipality in distributing money to the residents.
