The Ang Thong Flood Relief Committee is requesting 100 million baht in flood relief funds after having expended close to 90 million baht in repairing local flood damage.
The governor of Ang Thong province, Mr. Wiboon Saghuanpong (? ?? ), conducted a meeting with 13 local Flood Relief Commitees in the province to ascertain funding necessary for aiding flood victims. The governor reports that Ang Thong has utilized more than 81 million baht in local budget and central government budget in correcting damages from the recent flooding. Funding went towards establishing sanitation, infrastructure, and other necessities for local flood victims.
The Ang Thong governor reports that the majority of damages were towards residence and occupation, mostly in the agricultural and animal husbandry sector. Mr. Wiboon said that damages were in excess of 170 million baht, and the provincial flood relief committees will therefore be submitting a request to the Cabinet for 100 million baht in flood relief funds.
