BANGKOK, 20 April 2011 (NNT)-First Army Area Commander Lt General Udomdej Sitabutr is urging Thai people across the country to make donations to help victims of the natural disaster in the South of Thailand.

According to Lt General Udomdej, necessary items such as clothes and food are encouraged as important items for flood victims’ survival. Any interested parties can make donations at the Royal Thai Army on Ratchadamnoen Road.

The General said the Armey has now collected a large number of donated items mostly from both the government and private sectors and will deliver them to the victims of floods and mudslides in the Southern region right away.

Apart from donations, the Army has also gathered a team of soldiers to help restore homes as well as streets damaged by floods to pave the way for better accessibility for southern residents.
