Only a few areas in the South remain flooded

SURAT THANI, 6 February 2017 (NNT) - Nearly every part of the South has dried up except for certain areas in Surat Thani and Narathiwat provinces where many homes remain inundated.

In Surat Thani, Rajaprajanugroh Foundation presented 500 relief bags and photos of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej to the residents of Tha Kham sub-district at Wat Taranaram School.

In Narathiwat, Rajaprajanugroh Foundation Secretary-General Pol Maj Autthakrit Thareechat distributed 1,500 relief bags to people living in Sukhirin district and some money to the family of Asira Mustorpa who was killed in the flood. The Pol Maj later traveled to Janae and Cho-airong districts to hand out 1,500 relief bags to the flood victims.

In Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thai Red Cross Society Secretary-General Phan Wannamethee visited the province on behalf of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit to present cleaning, bedroom and kitchen supplies to those who lost their homes to the flood.

The Secretary-General also visited two residents, Saengthong Prakobpran and Pranee Jaidee, to show his support after their homes were destroyed. The Thai Red Cross Society has set up temporary tents for them to stay until their homes have been rebuilt.
